  Why Don’t People Stop Smoking?

Most people know that by stopping they will save ££££s a year. Most people know that they could add years to their life. And most people know that if they stop smoking right now, they could save their health – before it’s too late... I don't want to labour the point but bad health will most likely arrive sooner or later, perhaps you are feeling the effects now?

Look at how much money you could save - it's like a free payrise! Think about what you could do with the extra money, a holiday, a new car, new clothes? 

































So, why do people continue to smoke? With all the evidence available, with all the experience in dealing with the mind, the answer is the same all over the world. It all comes down to one thing…FEAR

Fear that you'll have to give up your crutch or pleasure

Fear that you won't be able to enjoy life or handle stress

Fear that you will put on weight

Fear that you'll have to go through an awful trauma to get free

Fear that you'll never get completely free of the craving

All of these fears are just examples of one overriding fear. The one simple reason that you have not stopped smoking is - you fear that it is going to be too painful and too difficult!

When smokers try to stop with other methods they frequently suffer misery and depression caused by the feeling that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch. The nice thing about  hypnosis, and the way I use hypnosis as well as NLP, is that it removes this feeling of deprivation. It removes the need, and the desire, to smoke. You won’t need much less effective aids, gimmicks, or substitutes.  

No nicotine gum or patches and no needles. All that you have to do is sit back in a nice comfortable chair, and relax. It doesn’t get much easier than that!

Is Smoking An Addiction?

If smoking was simply a matter of a physical addiction the patches and gum substitutes would work every time. Patches supply the body with as much nicotine as the average smoker inhales from about 12 packets of cigarettes, yet studies have shown patches are only successfull in 4 - 13% of cases and gum in 3 -11% of cases (Law and Tang 1995).
